Very first rebloom phal on secondary spike

Being a beginner this is exciting. I have been watching it produce buds but they were not blooming. So I moved it into a warmer room and overnight it bloomed and it is beautiful. (I am getting a camera connector kit soon). But the bad news is I think after the blooms have fallen off this phal will be history. The crown has severe damage and I do not think will grow anymore leaves or spikes. One more phal has damaged crown. So two that will be history. Good news though - My mother in law is giving me about 7 of her phals that have survived but are not growing. She killed about 20.

Do not get water into the crown and let it sit there. This causes rot. You will also want to check out some good phal culture so that you can both keep them alive longer.

I should have said it is not root rot but damage from shipping. I got one as a gift with squashed crown and the other I failed to notice damaged crown from shipping when I bought it. I am very careful to keep water out of crown.

Show us pictures when you get your camera set up. Maybe it's not as bad as it seems and we can see what is going on and offer help.
