Do you have a name for your new orchid? The leaves look just like my trichocentrum.

It's called a psychopsis orchid

It's really easy to grow almost like a phal for light but needs high humidity

Psychopsis what?

Are you sure it's a psychopsis? I'm not seeing the pseudobulb of a psychopsis. Could just be the angle of the pics but the lack of pbulb makes me think trichocentrum.

BTW both tricho and psychopsis prefer cattleya light. Phal level light won't be enough and you could lose the mottling in the leaves and they won't bloom well, if at all.

Okay good to know. Thanks

I will move my t5 lights down a bit closer, tonight. it says it puts out about 5000 lumens. and I do have some clip on lights to add to it.

From what i hear they like medium light and to dry out between waterings they need more water and fertilizer in spring and summer than in fall and winter

They hate old medium and so it's a myth about not repotting them they like high humidity and air movement and they are expensive mine was 60 bucks after tax

A Normal Orchid is amazing! Although it is delicate and slightly difficult to take care of.
