I think they are basically the same thing most of the time. I am not sure what the difference could be.

A good mini is Soph. cernua

I think the meanings behind these two words depends on the vendor. Some vendors use 'compact' to mean that the pseudobulbs grow close together while 'mini' refers to a size smaller than 'standard'. If in doubt, always call and ask the vendor.

Trick or Treat would be one of the last Catts I'd call compact, it grows VERY tall.
