Newbie question: Mdtm. name meaning

I have a tag labeled Mdtm. Hawaiian Sunset 'HOT #8'. Can someone translate the terms for me? I get the Hawaiian Sunset part, but what is Mdtm.?

Many thanks in advance.

SHOULD be Mtdm.= Miltonidium = Miltonia x Oncidium

Orchid Genera and Abbreviations: A - C
Book Mark this for future reference.

Thanks, Anton, for the answer and for the link. I know that has been posted before, but I couldn't locate it. My Mtdm. Hawaiian Sunset has two spikes growing; I'll put a picture up when it blooms.

Miltonia are rather cool weather plants and do not do well with temperatures over 80 degrees. Many have been breed to Oncidium to be more adaptable to higher temperatures.

Here is one in bloom. It has smaller flowers so it takes after the Oncidium side of the family rather than the pansy orchid flower of the Miltonia. What the flowers lack in size they make up for in quantity. Your two spikes should produce 50-70 flowers. It is one of the easiest to grow.
