| I got a cycnoches orchid from the trash several months ago (don't ask). It seemed to have some sort of bacterial or fungal infection so i started cutting off the affected parts. unfortunately, one of the affected parts was near the roots and another was near the tip. I had read in "orchids for dummies" that dendrobium orchids can be propagated by placing segments of the pseudobulbs on potting media, and I was hoping that something similar could occur with cycnoches orchids. I have already cut my cycnoches into a segment and it is long enough to include 2 nodes. it is sitting on top of dry sphangnum moss underneath a sheet of plastic wrap in a west window. is there hope for my orchid? (please say yes because I love this plant!) |

| the bulb would have to have a healthy growing node still on the bud. roots and leaves are not important since the plant grows totally new growth from this node. You have nothing to lose so try. When bulbs die it is obvious and the shrivel up to nothing even on a healthy plant Here is one of my favorites, excuse the type on the name ![]()
