Nodosa Question

I've got a Nodosa that just finished blooming in the past week or so. It's got something that looks like a seed pod on one of the old flower stems. Anyone Know what this is, and can I grow anything new with it? Heatherbear

Don't bother. The process is very complex. You would need to send the pod at the appropriate time to a laboratory for flasking. Your pod is probably a selfing, but then again, if some other Cattleya family orchid was in bloom in your colection or a neighbor's collection, that could be the other parent, and since you don't know for sure, it would be a waste of money to try to grow these seeds. Think of mongral dog puppies. Hard to find a home for. I would remove this so the plant saves its energy for growing and blooming again. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ
