| I inherited an orchid from my mother when she passed away this December. She had it forever. It has bloomed twice but the blooms died back this time before they finished. I have noticed a lot of roots coming out of the pot. Can and how do I repot it? I'm so worried about hurting it! |

| yes, and can you tell us where you're located? (different climates require different media...)

| I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. I'm a recent orphan too. Phals have aerial roots (the roots you have outside of the pot) and they are completely normal. Some have more than others. If they are green and firm your Mom's orchid is healthy and happy. Phals love to be repotted, so it couldn't hurt. However, you shouldn't expect to get all of the aerials into the pot. Make sure you get them wet as well when you water your plant. And Welcome to the forum!!!!
