Flowers dropping off

I have a Phal Hybrid and have had it for about 4 months. It has been very healthy and bloomed one flower after I purchased it. I came in this morning, it sits on my desk at work, and 5 of the 7 flowers fell off and the last 2 will probably drop off tonight. The branch where the flowers fell from looks a yellowish/brownish color. Does my plant have a disease? Should I trim off the discolored part of the stem? I am not sure what I should to save this plant... I love it and do not want to lose it. What should I do? Thanks for any help you can give!

I am sorry I did not see this questonj earlier.

Your Phal just reached the end of the life span for the flowers.
They do not last forever. 4-12 weeks is normal for most varieties.

The stem is dying as is natural. You can cut it off but the plant does not care if you cut it or leave it. Either is correct. Since the stem is drying it will not produce anymore flowers or baby plants.
