phal help

My phal which was incredible for 8mos finally lost its buds. Now the leaves are dark green and strong but three of the bottom leaves have yellowed and fallen off, is this normal?

Older leaves on Phals will yellow and shrivel until they fall off. How many leafs does it have all together? It sounds normal but it could be something else if it has few leaves in the first place.

Over how much time did three leaves yellow and fall off? Now that I've gotten to know my Phals better I think it's OK to lose one leaf for every new one that grows; typically the new ones are bigger than the old one that yellows and falls and overall the plant gets bigger over time. But if a few fell off in quick succession without growth of new leaves I'd be worried that something is wrong. Have you made any big changes recently such as light conditions, watering, or fertilizing? Even if you haven't made these changes, have they happened because of the changing seasons?
