| Blooming Phals Hi!
I joined orchid geeks a few months ago when my phal started blooming. The blooms have since fallen off (they lasted five months) and I cut the stem back. Now it is putting out another spike from the other side! Is this OK. I'm excited, but I thought maybe it should rest for a few months. While the first blooms were getting ready to fall off, it produced a new leaf, so it's been busy.
Also, my other phal has just started blooming for the season. It's the one pictured in my avatar!
In so far as the air conditioning question, I don't have air conditioning and it is hot and humid in my home. My orchids seem to do well in this environment. However, I gave an orchid to my boss for her birthday and she has central air conditioning, and it really did not do well at all. She's given it back to me and it has perked up since being back in my home. I'm thinking they don't really like the air conditioning. I'm also from Ontario, by the way.
