Question New to This forum and seeking Help!!

Hello to everyone
I'm not sure what type of Orchid I have and I have attached a few photo's so as to show what I'm asking about, it has been flowering for 5 months and I am based in the UK (but don't hold that against me). My Orchid seems to have produced babies (there must be a technical term), as roots have appeared at the top of the stem. Can anybody tell me whether I should remove them and pot them up, or bend them down to a pot whilst still attached to the Mother plant. Thanking you in advance for any assistance you can give me
Regards
Kevin

Looks like you are the proud parent of Phalaenopsis keikis! Keikis is the technical term that you are looking for. Keikis should be left on the parent plant until sufficient roots have formed. Then they can be safely cut off and potted. I'll let the experts around here give you more information. I know what keikis are in general, but don't know the specifics of how to deal with them. I've never been so lucky! Beautiful phal as well and welcome to the board.

Hello and welcome to the forum. We won't hold the UK against you since there are several great members from there already.

Leave the keikis on the plant until the roots are 2-3 inches (5-7.5cm) long. At that point you can carefully cut them off with a sterile blade and pot them up in new homes. Congrats on the keikis.

Hi & welcome !
I agree with jay..ljust beware!
you may have to be very, very patient! I had the same case happen to me, the keikis all had only one root to start with & took about 9 months for other roots to 'sprout' and grow(to more than 2.5") mean time mummy plant has continued to flower & has 2 side stalks with 8 blooms & 6 other buds in formation off the original flowered 2 stalks
(dates from Aug 2006) it had 3 keikis in between, as well as 2 new leaves ....good luck ! & keep us posted.

If you want new plant, you can wrap some media(pine bark) with the young root. wait until
it grow another 2 or 3 more root and you get yourself another 2 more plant
