| Repot pot sizes If I have plants that are in 2.5 or 2.25 pots, should I go to 3 inches or 4. The 3 inches seem kind of small in relation to the current size which are square. I'm using the round translucent with slits, and would like to stay with the same type. |

| I believe if you measure the diagonal of a 2.5 inch pot you will come up with about 3 inches. Probably a 2.5 inch pot would fit inside a 3 inch one. So 3 inch is only slightly larger. I would consider a 3.5 inch round pot or a 3 inch square one. (provided you don't overpot or have too much space from roots to wall of pot. Nick |

| It depends on many things: 1) type of orchid 2) how much it has grown 3) how big is the root mass 4) what the cultural requirements of the orchid are I frequently repot orchids in the same size pot. What more can you tell us?

| Some are bare root which were recommended to use 2.5-3 in pots, but I can't get all the roots in without coiling them. A mini-cat with roots sticking out of the bottom. A bollophylum with a root tip right at the edge of the top of the pot. |

| Bulbos are veyr rambling orchids. They grow roots and vegetation all over, especially once they're well establishied and getting good culture. A root tip at the edge of the pot does not necessarily indicate a need to repot. When wes it last repotted? The mini-cat might need repotting, but I have several orchids with roots coming out the bottom which I'm not going to repot. Does the mini-catt have room to grow more pseudobulbs? And when was it last repotted? And finally, what genera are the bare root orchids?

| t's not a bulbo, it's a bollopetalum, I misspelled. cross between a bollea and a zygo. And the tip of the root had gone down to the bottom of the pot and was on it's way back up. I don't know when any were last repotted, I just got them from the grower. The bare roots are a odbrsa, a bulbo and a paph. The bulbo I mounted, it was the odbrsa that I couldn't coil enough to get into the smaller pot. |
