Exclamation I love them....I just don't know what they are!

I received a new "baby" for my birthday today. Her tag says TWDR 50-07 or TWDR SO-07. What they heck does this mean? lol It is a yellow phalaenopsis with a fuschia-ish "mouth."

Where's the pic? Love to see it. Sounds like a NOID. No ID. Maybe someone else can see the picture and figure it out.

Here is my guess - Many people who hybridize plants assign "names" to them for internal use that are used for their internal tracking only. By the names/tags they can look up the cross involved and tell you other information that may be associated with the history of the cross such as when seed was fasked, when plants were deflasked, etc. - but only a small percentage are "good" enough to actually be named - the rest all just remain numbers/letters that have no meaning to the general public. This doesn't mean that the plant or flowers are necessarily even inferior - maybe just nothing that the particular grower didn't feel was unique or outstanding enough to register.

I'm wiht Mayers. It's probably some sort of code or flask number or somethign like that. The last part isprobably 05-07 meaning it was probably deflasked in May of last year.

Schamommy, I recently bought a Phal. last week that looks almost like yours. Unfortunately it didn't come with a tag either. Here's pic.

I'm a sucker for phals and the yellow ones are my favorite. Yours are extra special because the shadows on the wall in the picture makes the whole thing look like a mirror image. Or maybe another dimension...

BTW, a BIG, BIG welcome to the forum!!

Pat you got a good eye. Didn't even notice that the first time. Those are nice shadows.
