Will my Den flower again

I have a den that sits on my desk and does nothing. I talk to her, tell her she's pretty and she won't budge. She won't yellow, she wont grow. She has the same leaves that she had when I bought her. Its like she's in a coma.
She gets indirect sunlight all day (im in no. california near san francisco and the bay so late day sun). I water her twice a week, she is in bark and a clay pot (orchids for dummies). I fertilize every other week and she wont bloom. I have had her for a year now and I'm still waiting. Any help to boost her reproduction cycle. Also, anything safe to keep knats (?) away from my black jewel. It too is kinda in coma state.

The main reason for lack of blooms on any orchid is inadequate light. You seem to be doing everything well and the plant is healthy so give it more light.

I would take it home and get it outside. Unfortunately you have missed the best blooming season (early spring) for most dens but you still have a chance for it to set buds. Many dens bloom twice a year so your odds improve.

Indirect light is not enough for Dendrobiums. Your plant is waiting for summer to come. Give this one away to a friend with a window where it can get direct filtered light (filmy curtain), and get a Phalaenopsis. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ
