I feel really dumb today......

On the catts, how do you tell a bud from a bulb? Don't kick me off the list for this, but two of my new catts have "different" looking bulbs coming out of the bulbs. They are about 3" long and are tightly gathered and pointy on the top. I'll take some pictures!

Pictures.....

Attached are two photos of my new catts.... I see something I'm not sure is a budding stalk or just another bulb. Can someone identify?

Thank you in advance!

Oh, Wolfie!! You have some nice new healthy shoots coming from the base of your Catt. This plant is a sympodial orchid. I don't know if you've ever grown Iris, but it's that type of growth! It starts at the base of the previous growth and extends out! It will start shooting out some big juicy roots from the base of it's new growth, soon.! Keep up the good light, water and then let it dry out (not too long) and then water again. The light is important here. More light, more moisture. less light, less moisture. This is for Catts! Not all orchids respond to this treatment! Please keep us posted on your progress!

I don't see the "bulb" coming out of the pseudobulb, as you say.... If there is that, it could be a bud for a bloom. Usually the blooms happen, and then the new growth, and then the buds. We'll see!

BTW- We don't kick anyone off the list unless they're real jerks...Asking questions is what we're all about! We're all here together to learn about orchids!!!
