When to move my Cym inside ?

I know when it rains a lot and weather is cold. It is time to move Cym inside to a shelter. How about humidity is 95% at night and should I move it. I have one Cym its flower is just about open. I have lost one flower spike because of water rot when bud was about to surface.http://www.orchidgeeks.com/forum/ima...lies/frown.gif

I would not move it indoors because I find the buds will drop for some reason. I only bring them in when the flowers are almost fully opened. I keep all my Cyms. outdoor even in the winter and rainy season. The only time water becomes a problem is when the buds are almost open. Then I cover the top of my shade house with hard plastic or move it under something to keep the rain off.
I know the fog is pretty bad in SF so maybe you might keep it indoors only at night and put it back out in the morning until the flower opens. Like I said, I find moving them indoors prior that that caused the buds to not open and drop. Hope this helps.

Solay is right. Moving the Cymbidium inside prior to the blooms fully opening result in the vast majority of the buds blasting. As Solay suggests, try and shelter the plant outside to keep the rain off and don't move it inside until the flowers open.

I leave my cyms out year around, protecting them only when the temps fall below 32 or so. That is only about a week a year in our area. Lots of sun in early to mid morning then bright light the rest of the day. Depending where you live in the city you might have a problem getting it sun during the summer.
