| What's wrong with my epidendrum? This is an Epi Fantasy Valley 'Star Burst.' It was in bloom for three months and has been growing a lot. The other day I noticed the black leaf - I think it's a blighted new leaf - and checked the plant for others; this was it (see mark on photo). A problem brewing, or one of those things? Plant has a lot of new growth after being repotted in Feb (it was badly, horribly root bound). |

| From what I can see of the photo, I don't think your plant's in any serious danger. It looks like the terminal leaf has died off (aborted) for some reason. If no other leaves go this route you're probably just find to remove the dead leaf and let the plant continue on. If the point of growth has also died off this cane may not bloom but that won't cause any long-term harm to your plant.
