I have a problem

I am a newbie here on site and I bought 3 plants: a Phal, a Myltonia and the last one a Zygopetalum.... The first and the last are doing ok but I have a problem with Myltonia....
When I bought it I didint realize that the roots where VERY damaged from over-watering (most of them where already black and the 3 leaves turned yellow quickly)..... I browsed the internet and I thought that the best way to save it was to use the s/h system..... so I cuted off most of the roots (the damaged ones of course) and I put it on a pot with s/h. And for the next 2 weeks I used only water once a week...but now I think that it wasnt enough.....
so I think that I should use water with fertilizer maybe twice a week.....
what do u think? is it a good ideea or not?

Never use fertilizer on damaged roots. The plant can not absorb it and it adds additional stress to the plant.

You are mistaking the fact. that the roots are damaged and therefor the plant can not absorb water, with the mistaken belief that watering more often will help. Keep water to a very minimum.

Miltonia are cool growing plants and are stressed over 60 degrees. They really love good air circulation over the plant. A fan may help.

Welcome to the Forum Maxxone,

People tend to be confused between Miltonia and Miltoniopsis (pansy orchid). But it is important to know which orchid is which to be able to give the appropriate care. An pansy orchid will look like this pic. The flowers look like a pansy.
I do have a both and I do have a bit of problem with the miltoniopsis. It needs regular watering as the roots are very fine. Mine seems not liking direct sun at all and high temperature.

Good growing

I think that this is Miltoniopsis because I saw it bloom and it was like a pansy
I live in Bucharest (Romania) and I grow my orchids in my apartment....
the temperature is around 20C and the humidity is between 70-50%.....but I can use the conditioned air to make it about 18C for a few hours a day. (I dont have a cold spot in my house).
The light is very good in general (not today cause its rainy outside).....so I put the orchids a little behind to avoid direct exposure.
I will post some pics with my orchids (and the damaged one):
1, 2, 3 - The damaged Miltoniopsis (I didnt picture the roots cause I dont wanna stress it anymore)
4, 5 - Zygopetalum I just bought the other day
6, 7 - Phalaenopsis - I have it for over 2 months and I think its doing great
Thanks for the advices and I hope to get some more after u see the pics

Hi Maxxone, Welcome! Your plants look great to me- I wouldn't fertilize the Miltoniopsis until you see new growth. Just let it get used to it's new environment. That's my opinion. They look good though!
