Can you bring an orchid back to life?

My husband bought me an orchid a month for my birthday. We have recently moved and one of the rules of the movers is to not transport anything that is living...plants/vegetation. Apparently one of the orchids never made it out of the box and was moved with our stuff. Needless to say, it is very dead. Is it possible to bring one back? I was unable to take the other 11 with me when we moved to the other side of the states. The orchid type is Odm. Margaret Holm 'Larkspur'...that is what the tag in the pot says. Thanks.

are there any signs of life? just place it a spot with the conditions it used to like and nurse it a little, it won't be pretty and it will take a long time for recovery. hey buy another one to keep your interest. good luck with it

hoping that the pseudobulbs are still green, but just desicated, soak the whole plant and pot (if it hasn't fallen out of the pot during ur move) in water with superthrive for a day or two. then place over a tray of water in a warm shady place away from any direct sun, keep the soil moist and just be patient .

I am not sure I would keep the medium moist, as we are not really sure there are not live roots. My suggestion would be to let the medium get very close to dry, then put the whole thing in a ziplock bag, keep out of the sun and wait. Adding a little mostly wrung out wet moss to the bag would be a good idea. You want the humidity to be 100% to keep the plant from desicating while it is waiting for the right season and hormones to start its next growth. If all of the bulbs are yellow or worse, the plant is dead and to be trashed. If any of the bulbs are green, even very pale, badly desicated or not, there is still hope. Cynthia, Prescott, AZ
