Do you think it's a flower spike?

I bought this tiny teeny orchid off e-bay. It was named Schoenorchis fragrans. It was soooo cute. I remounted on cork with some wire and it's been a couple weeks and I noticed it has a new growth. Do you guys know if this might be the flowers coming in? I'm praying it is. I thought it would take forever to bloom cause it is so small but maybe it is blooming size. I can't stop looking at it to see what it is going to do next. See the little pink growth?!

I think that you may have a new growth
I will add a link so you can see a larger plant

Schoenorchis

I also edited you capital letter to lower case as you have a species ( Schoenorchis fragrans ) with the use of capital letter are only used for Hybrid orchids

A very nice little orchid.
I just am a little worried with the use of wire used to mount the orchid.
the wire just might inhibit the growth of the orchid, wire will also rust and that could lead to more problems.

end of lesson ( sorry )

Dear Fred, thank you for all your help/lessons. The picture of the blooms are beautiful.I I am going to replace the wire with fishing line tonight! Rust!!!! It didn't even occur to me. I've learned so much already in just a few days on this site. I'm very grateful to everyone. More lessons pretty please!!!

I'm crossing my fingers the flowers are going to come out as gorgeous as the link. Even if it's just new growth and not flowers, I'm just happy it's not dying on me.

Soley, it's beautiful!! It's the cutest orchid I've seen. I think those might be flower spikes. When I clicked on the picture to enlarge it, and looked about 1/3 of the way down the plant, I see 2 wine colored points. I'm an optimist- I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

My 8 yr old son just picked out a Schoenorchis fragrans as "his" orchid(we all really know that that is just a thought in his mind, it's really mine!!!!all mine!!). What kind of light should I put this in? Instead of mounting it could I put it in a tiny pot? What would be best for it? Thanks Cindy aka flowerchild

I have been looking on the web to find a culture sheet about this little ripper being grown in a pot.. I have not found anything as yet but I think I'm glad I said it may be a new growth as if you have a look at this link with what I have seen on your pic it looks more like a flower spike
Schoenorchis fragrans

Flowerchild, I wish I could give you advice but can't since this is my first too. The seller from e-bay sent the follow message to me after I inquired about how to care for it.

"Keep the base of the plant moist most of the time in the blooming stage. You can also fertilize every week. Try not to water on the blooms, so they will last longer. Shady or bright light is OK, Temperature warm is good, around 70-80F degrees is best."

Nothing about mounting but he/she had it mounted on a little branch of some thing at first. I think because of the way the leaves are flat it looks nice mounted and the flowers will be easier to see. I hope it is a flower spike. Will take more pictures later. Please post yours too so I can how it looks. Thanks.
