Talking what is this Den?

I'm babysitting a friend's Dendrobium and I'm not sure what it is. I'm afraid to over water it and I think I sunburned it. Does anyone recognize it and have advice for me? I've been told it's a Candlestick orchid but that hasn't been helpfull. I'm used to Cat family orchids.

Thanks in advance

What is your area? IF you are in asia. I would say that would be Dendrobium Roong Kamol. But it does not look like what you have.

I'm not suprised. Candlestick orchid? This is about the 2nd or 3rd new common name I've heard made up this year. These common names for orchids aren't useful which is why I never use them.

This orchid is in a family of dens called nigrohirsutae because many of the species and some of the hybrids as well, have black hair on their canes. They come from various places in south east asia and the asian islands where there are no pronounced seasons. They should be watered evenly year round, just allowing them to dry slightly between waterings, never completely bone dry. Light should be bright but indirect. To much direct light may cause sun burn (as you may have discovered). Although I'm not certain because there have been several of these types of hybrids made in recentl years, but this looks like itcould be Den Dawn Marie. Unless it has a tag though you can't tell for sure.
