| Your wish is my command ![]() And I could kick myself--on Friday at Lowe's they had 4" pots of flowering dens for $18--there was a beautiful yellow--don't remember if it was Canary or Yellow Song, or ??? Anyway, I picked it up and put it down again. I should have snatched it! I've learned my lesson Marcia |

| Commercial tags especially on Phals are cultivation references for the grower. The date 11/20/06 was probably the date it was potted from a seedling size. Prior to that it was in a flask. The Y is to remind the grower that it is a yellow. Pro 10 is any reference the grower though was important. It could have been a different seed crossing (to get the strongest fastest growing plants you need to remember with what you started). The only "name" is Phal for the family (which is wrong) and Sogo Pearl for the variety (Sogo is a name added on most the the Phals grown by one nursery) The parents of Sogo Pearl are Phal Golden Pecker (a spotted variety) and Dtps Sogo Manager (a bright yellow) so the correct (registered) name is Dtps Sogo Pearl. You may find some will develop with spots.

| Thank you so much for the lesson, Jerry. About the typo--pictures of golden ornaments used in some ancient rite did cross my mind.... I'll update my plant tag--in case I can keep this one alive. I have so much to learn about orchids! Marcia |
