Phal question

I got a couple Phals as gifts from friends, one of them has distinct markings on the leaves. I'm not sure if it's good or bad. Any thoughts?

some of it looks like just fertilizer residue; as for the spots--i wouldn't be too concerned. it might just be normal for the plants. i have a couple purple ones that have dark mottling on their leaves; there are also phals out there with actual variegation on their leaves.

I wiped the leaves to remove the waterspotting they had on them. What you see is how they actually look, no residues. Thanks for the response Janet!

Both sets of flowers are super! It almost looks to me like it might be genetic? Never seen anything quite like it. I have one that is just the reverse - has lighter leaves with darker spots where yours is lighter. It will be interesting to see how the next new leaf comes out. I'd be inclined to treat it as normal for the time being unless someone here on the forum has a definate diagnosis. In the meantime - enjoy.
