Question orchids bloom

i've been keeping my store bought orchids from last year though i really don't know how to care for them properly. But i really love them. And the one that i moved to the ground outside have bloom twice already. Now there's another one which is indoor that bloom but it didn't hold too long enough. Also three others are showing new buds. How long do the blooming stay?

welcome aboard. In order to help you better , you should update your profile so that i
dont give your the wrong advise. I stay in the tropics, advise given in the tropics would
be deadly to plant in the northern hemisphere

Hi Nita, Different orchids bloom for different lengths of time. Do you know what kind/s you have? My phalaenopsis bloom for 4-5 months at a time, but my cattleyas only bloom for about 2-3 months...

Also, can you tell us where you are living? Do you keep your orchids outside all year long or just for the spring and summer months? If you are able to post pictures, that will help us give you some answers

and also to patlee. those ones outside, i think they are called cymbiduim, they stay there permanently. Their buds are coming now and one had already flowered. i also have some indoors and are also having buds. i am happy for them and i have some pictures but i don't know how to send it.
i live here in San Bruno, California, and i am happy to know both of you. thanks for the advice and time.

other then what we have told you so far. There is an ancient saying that has pass from
generation to generation.

when you put your whole heart into raising a flower it did not want to bloom.
when you stick a fig tree branch into soil and forgotten about it. The branch became
a tree without any help..

morale of the lesson? When they dont bloom. Ignore them . he he he...
modern version? :::: That's the way of the force.

Ancient Saying

I agree with you Digitalgate, cause most of the time in my gardening experienced, that's what really happens.
Some of them (plants) surprised me, when they will just popped up and grow and even brought flowers, but those ones that i've been spending time to give tlc seems harder to survived.
But I cannot let the orchids unattended, I know for sure that I will really lost them.
