| I am one for being very slow to use larger pots. If the plant is not falling out of the pot it will probably be ok to leave it. I am surprised you received bare root Phals. Most growers do not ship this way, but you certainly treated them right. Using three inch pots was a good choice. Over potting is one of the biggest mistakes hobbist do.

| plugs and bare root treat about the same. Phals can bloom at under 24 months old from seed. A four inch spread on a plug can bloom within 7-9 months so it is not so surprising. I put a lot of plugs in 4 inch pots last summer and bloomed only one of the 25 I kept this spring. They were blown around from hurrican katrina so it may not have been from the pot size, but this year they go in smaller pots.
