Exclamation Yellow stalk on Phal...

I recently had three leaves yellow and drop off of my phal. I determined it was root rot due to a too small pot and too much water. It was in a plastic pot with one hole on the bottom. i repotted in bark, clay pot. The leaves stopped yellowing almost immediatley. I watered for the first time in six days this past saturday (1/2 cup). On Thursday one of the stalks was turning yellow from the bottom. On Friday the only bud that was on the stalk turning yellow fell and a flower was wilting. Today the stalk is completely yellow and the flower has fallen. No signs of yellow leaves yet. The other stalk is completely green and has no blooms. I got my orchid in December and have not had any blooms on the stalk that is still green. I wanted to wait to cut the stalks after the green stalk bloomed. I don't and haven't seen any mites but I have heard they normally attack the buds first. If I decide to spray my orchid with a mite killer do I spray it all over? Any guesses as to what's going on here? I would upload photos but my camera is shot. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. =)

If the leaves stopped yellowing once it was repotted, I wonder if it dropped the flowers and spike to recover. Flowering takes a lot of energy, and if it needs to recover from root rot, it would make sense to drop the spike first. Watering once in 6 days, especially with a bark medium, does not seem to me to constitute overwatering.

I've never had to spray for mites, so I don't have any advice on that. I'm sure others do. Good luck!

HI
If you could post pictures that would be the best way for us to get an idea as to what is going on.

By "stalk" I assume you mean the flower spike. Many spikes turn brown once flowering is done. Many remain green and eventually get buds on them. However, many stay green for very long periods of time with no buds at all. If a spike stays green I don't cut it but keep an eye on it. I have one plant that bloomed last summer who's spike stayed green from one whole blooming season to another and finally just recently got a bud on the end of it.
