| This may sound strange . . . I recently made some tofu, and was wondering if I could water/feed my orchids and other plants with the whey that's left over from the process. Any one know? |

| I would worry about the critters that the stuff would attract. Kinda like sugar. It would be waving a big flag for bugs to come eat dinner. Anton~ I so Love the Avatar! ![]()

| That's all well and good for you, but what about the orchids?

| What happened with recycled water? As for the benefits, I was thinking maybe the nutrients left over (aside from the protein) might be good for the orchids or other plants. Essentially, I just didn't want to throw the whey out if there was a good use for it. And with snails and other critters, the water used for the tofu came straight from the tap (which is where my plant water comes from anyhow), and the whey was created when I boiled the soy milk with some lemon juice. Any critters that may have started out in there probably didn't survive the process (besides, I think I would've noticed a snail in the pot). Thanks for the feedback! I'll see what else I can do with it. |
