shriveled pseudobulbs, salvagable?

Hi, I read that slightly shriveled pseudobulbs are normal for one type of orchid, I believe oncidiums, for a certain time of year but can't find this information again. Does anybody out there know of this to be true? And if so, what type and when? HELP! I am trying to plump up some I received bareroot. I'd just like to know if there's hope! THANKS!

Shriveled pseudobulbs are natural on many orchids. Usually it is a sign of age. It is common on oncidiums but also with many older canes on dendrobiums and many of my cattleyas.

I even have some cats that shrivel as soon as the bulb developes. Not very good genes but fabulous flowers.

As long as the newest pseudobulbs are healty and growing I would not worry.
