Unhappy cattelya pest

I have a lovely cattelya that is many years old. Just today I noticed small rice like growths on the back of its leaves. They are white and clusted together . I have isolated it from my other kinds of orchids and I removed the leaves and destroyed them. Does anyone know what they are and will they continue to bloom on my cattelya orchid or infest my other moth and cattelya species?:

I think we will need a picture. It doesn't sound familiar.
