Brown catt sheafs

Well, I bought this Catt in sheaf, and the sheaf was nice and green, but slowly it went brown, and in my mind this meant it was dying off and I wouldnt get any flowers.

So I thought I'd snip the top bit off to peer inside to see what there was...and low and behold a lovely green bud was staring right back at me!

Have I foiled its sneaky plan to flower? Or will it be ok as long as I dont get any water down there?

I don't think it will make a bit of difference at this stage.

I too think it would not make any difference. The 'protection' is not as critical as if in the wild. The problem may arise if you had had nicked the bud(s) in the process of removing it.

Good luck.

Even on the same plant some flowers will have sheats and others not. It is seldom that removing a sheat is a problem unless you break the flower when removing the sheat (this is easy to do).

The sheat will protect the buds from tripes (not a big problem for a small collection) and from heat.

Figured I best take the rest of the sheath off in case I did spill water into it, and I found this.

I hope Its gonna flower, I've never seen a catt bud so not sure what to expect.
