| Spike leaves Hello from a shakey new member with probably an old question. On a cut back old spike new leaves are appearing instead of a spike extension. what are my options for this surprise [for me]: Thanks for any input |

| Options - 1) Let keiki grow and eventually start new duplicate of mother plant - takes generally 18-24 months from separation to bloom. Read all about the process here. Easy Orchids - Keiki Propagation 2) Cut the spike down to the next node - you may either get another keiki or perhaps a flower subspike - or nothing - only time would tell. 3) Remove the spike completely at the base to allow the mother plant to gain in size and vigor for the next blooming season. |
