Keikis on a Vanda? Vandas usually don't really keiki. Are you sure it's not just new growth starting at or near the base? Vandas do produce multiple growths.

But Vandas are monopedial? A keikei would be more likely, but they dont usually do it on small plants. How are you growing it?

I'm very happy for you! But, uh..er...what's a keiki?--Wait! I just answered my own question! I went to google and found photos etc. It's like a little clone. Growing from where it shouldn't. Is this correct?

hi i took another look there is a new plant growing at the base of the vanda its growing in a clear vase which i water twice a week for 20 mins its now growing under 3 lights so this isnt a keiki then but will i be able to detach it from parent plant when its bigger or no or is this just like a side shoot
