| Worm Tea is the liquid run off from a Wormerie This really is simply a small confined compost bin and can be anything from a bucket with a lid and a tap or drainage holes or a fancy purpose designed system You put all your kitchen peelings/waste into it plus Tiger Worms or Brandling Worms that Fishermen use and after a couple of weeks the liquid will start to appear In about a year you will have a very fine brown compost which you can use on other indoor or outdoor plants For Orchids you dilute the Tea 1 part to 10 of water Do a Google serach on Wormeries |

| Most of us in the states have been ordering it from OurVitalEarth.com This is concentrated and has additional micronutrients added. Jay |

| Several of the members here purchase it from Our Vital Earth. It is concentrated just dilute 1 part worm tea to 50 parts non-chlorinated water (1/3 c. to 1 gal. water). Leave the caps loose on the concentrated bottle and the diluted bottle since it contains live microbes. www.OurVitalEarth.com |

| I've only used worm tea from Our Vital Earth for about a month (feeding, interspersed with plain water or a dilute, standard fertilizer, and also misting). I haven't done the controlled experiment, but some plants that have been poking along forever are suddenly putting out new growth, perking up, and generally projecting an enthusiasm that I have not seen before. I can't particularly say the worm tea is the cause, but I'm not aware of doing anything else that's much different. -- Bill |

| wormtea Thanks for all the information--I think I will have to get some of that--I like the soundof it better than chemical fertilizers--And it just may give me an excuse to try something other than phals and paphs (like I really need much of an excuse to buy another orchid.) But thanks again, All ![]() |

| Patlee, you can actually find worm tea sold in many places... I've recently bought some under the name "worm poop" at a Home Depot nearby me, and just yesterday I saw that our local food coop (which has a tiny gardening section) is carrying another brand which they do call "worm tea"... But I also bought a gallon from OurVitalEarth which I've diluted and sprayed and watered with for the past few weeks. First heard about it on this forum... Good luck to you!

| Has anyone ever looked in Whole Foods or Wild Oats for Worm Tea? Never dawned on me before until now but I think I'll have to make the drive up there to check it out. I find my Worm Tea in the local Garden Center. It's the only thing I use. |

| I to am just finding out about worm tea. I get leary about using chemicals, especially with the kids. Is this stuff totally nontoxic? I use only nontoxic enviro safe cleaners and want to make sure something under the kitchen sink isn't going to be a kool-aid substitute.

| Yes the worm tea has very good effective on my Phal... They all have new growth, either new leaves or new roots after I used it on my Phal for a month. For those of us who are in the West Coast, I order from http://www.wiserwormfarm.com/ (they are in Olympia, Washington). The shipping will probably be cheaper (compared with ordering from Florida) and the ONLY vendor who is willing to ship to Canada. |
