New Vanda

Hello, Got this at Lowe's today they had a lot of new plants today the best selection ever at my local Lowe's. this caught my eye Vanda Kagawara Red have been wanting a red one for some time. pretty big plant i think. but it had a lot of rotted roots don't know how long it had been in the bag.So i soaked it for a good while in water with Superthrive it looked dehydrated to me. then i trimmed all the dead roots from it. and put it in the basket and sprayed it with Worm Tea. do you think i did ok by it. sure hope it will be ok. here are a couple of pictures of it. the second pic is of the roots, had a few good ones left. Thanks for looking Tommy

Tommy,

You did just fine. Your new vanda looks healthy.

By the way, is your avatar a pic of Ascocenda Susan Ong 'Ah Mooi'

I got a kagawara red vanda from Lowe's, too; I picked it up a couple months back. It's putting out new roots, but it's new leaf growth seems to have stalled. I just switched from keeping it's basket set in a larger planter to hanging it instead, so I'm waiting to see what difference that makes.

Is yours indoors, or in a greenhouse?

I have a tiny Vanda Kagawara Red seedling and I've been trying to find
the right spot for it. It seems to like lots of water and sun but I've only
got it to grow roots too. No new leave growth in the last 6 or 7 months.
