sedirea japonica question

Hi,
I am new to the forum and I am trying orchids again. I purchased a sedirea japonica on line and I wanted to know what kind of experiences any one had with it. I read about it and think it would be a good one to try.

I currently have: 2-Phalaenopsis(harlequinn & a white one), 2-Paphiopedilum( lowii & Maudiae hybrid) 1-Oncidium(twinkles) 1-Brassia(external wind 'summer dream') and a vanda-orange no name, (growing on a south window with additional light).

Thanks for any advice or assistance you can offer.

Dear myorchid, Hello and welcome to the forum. I'll skip the Sederia japonica culture as it appears that someone has provided that info. I do have some name corrections for you though.

In orchids, all genus names are capitalized (Sederia, Paphiopedilum, Oncidium, Phalaenopsis, etc., etc.). Also all hybrid and cultivar names are capitalized too as in Brassia External Wind 'Summer Dream.' The name of your Oncidium hybrid isn't "twinkles" but is singular Onc. Twinkle. You were correct to leave "lowii" in lower case as species names are not capitalized: Paphiopedilum lowii.

Happy Growing!

Tobi, Good link! I used to judge with Joe about 4 years back. He's quite knowledgable and reliable for good info and a good judge too. He's also a good grower, Zephyr's Orchids has a lot of "alba" Paphs.
