Lightbulb How To Upload Pictures and Post Them

Hi everyone,
Some people have asked how to upload pictures and then post them into their posts. Follow the directions below and you should not have any problems!

1. First go to HERE and upload your orchid picture.

2. Once uploaded, you will want to look below your orchid picture for the words "BB Image Code:" and copy and paste the into a post. This will then show the image in the post.

I hope I made things simple...any questions please ask.

Dave,

I noticed that in the photo section that when you click on the thumbs that a larger image is seen, is this done by linking to a web site with the larger images?

Dave--I am a new member to the forum and was hoping to link pics of my orchid to my post so that I can get someone to look at the prob with the plant. But the site only lets me link URLs after 15 posts..is there any way around this? Or how else can I post a pic?

HI WildOrchid! There is an other possibility: to post pictures directly in the text message.
Use the GO ADVANCED button at the bottom of the page, than you'll see Other OPTIONS, click on MANAGE ATTACHMENTS and upload from your computer.
Good luck! Aniko.

Dave, I uploaded my Christmas dog. I thought this would be a thumbnail, however, as you can see, it's full size. What did I do wrong. Please adivse.

I'm going to have to get him some 'Anton' glasses! I'm still having problems getting my picture as a thumbnail. I think I did the "guy thing" - drive until hopelessly lost, then stop and ask for directions.

I'm going to try this again. I'm not finding the "go advanced" button.
Wow - I did it. Nothing like following instructions!

Question Still can't upload

Hi, as a newbie is there a minimum number of "posts" required before I can upload a pic? I'm trying to upload one for Cynthia indicating the spots on my den. and am not able to. I thought that I've followed all the advise previously given as to Advance reply, etc. but still no luck. I've seen various number of posts mentioned- 15 or perhaps as low as 5 posts before it's allowed?
Trying hard not to get a "pesty" rep so soon into the game.
Thanks!!

Thanks for the info, even though I shouldn't have had any problems working out how to post here I was a bit puzzled by it.

P.S. Just tried uploading a couple of pictures but it tells me the link doesn't work and to notify the Administrator. So I give up. I followed the instructions exactly.

I may be way behind here, but, Bolero, along the top of the message box are many little items, fonts, sizes A, smiley and then a paper clip. Click on the paper clip, then select browse to go to your computer and find your picture there. When you find your picture, click open, then it will bring it back to the orchid geeks box where it says browse, click on upload. It will upload it there. When you close this box, it is automatically a thumbnail in your message. Hope I didn't bore you with repetitive stuff.

Yeah, I have the same problem with the website telling me that I can only post images (URL's, rather) after making five posts...so, I'm going to try that 'advanced options' thing. I"m trying to ID my new orchid! lol
