Brassavola nodosa (Linnaeus) Lindley

Hello all, have a question about my Brassavola nodosa (Linnaeus) Lindley
i got it 6-17-07. Hasn't grown very much just seems to be very slow in growing. it is planted in all sphag could this the the problem looks healthy to me. should i consider repotting or leave it untill spring. there are some roots coming out of the center none on the side of the basket. what is the blooming season for them .Thanks a lot for all the help i have gotten on this fourm.it has always been so helpful. Tommy,
I've had a Brassavola Little Stars for about 2 years now. Its parents are
nodosa x cordata. Mine blooms usually in the fall (Sept-Oct.) I have it in
a medium bark, charcoal and perlite. It does need good drainage and good
bright light. I don't know for sure if the sphag is too moist for its liking.
They do like to dry somewhat between waterings. Here is a link with some

Thanks TOBI, do you think i should wait till spring to repot.Tommy

You can probably wait until next spring to repot. The important thing right
now is not to overwater since its in sphag. Use the skewer method to test
the moistness. If it's damp, don't water. You don't want to be subjective
to root rot. You can tell when you have a probable spike by the little sheath
like appendage that grows from the new growth. I have enclosed a pic of
what they look like.
