| Does your Dendrobium have a name tag ? please do not cut the old canes off your Dendrobium at this point. Unless they are soft and mushy or shriveled up dry brown looking colour. If there are no leaves on a helathy green cane you may also get flower spikes. a pic of your plant would also help. First of all are you able to let us know what sort of Den you have Also you can help us to help you if you can go onto your user settings and Update your Profile with your Location as we are members from all over the world with different growing conditions. |

| Are you referring to the leaved growths? They are a major storage zone for the plant so it can make new growth, like the backbulbs on onc.s etc. They should be left alone unless of rot, virus etc. |

| Old canes are healthy for the plant and can flower well. Here is a good example of why not to cut the canes off. Only 5 leaves but 150 flowers
