| has anyone tried s/h with perlites? I know most of s/h cultures are done with hydroballs or clay bits. However, I have been reading about perlites and the success they had with tomatoes in perlite s/h. WIth perlites readily available I would love to try a S/H with perlites but I am not sure if I want to risk a plant for my curiousity. |

| perlite on its own doesnt seem very open to me. Clayballs allow for airation to roots with the constant moisture, but pure perlite would be tight on the roots for an epiphyte. i've never tried it mind, be good to see what others think. |
