| For a newbie, where can I buy orchids I am trying to expand my orchid collection. Have made two purchases on E bay with very POOR results. In our area it seems the only place is either Safeways, or Costco though these are no name plants, they are buy far better than these so called orchid growers. I just purchased 4 plants on Ebay 2 were supposed to be in bud, when they showed up the buds , I guess they were the bud stems, were all dryed up. I cannot believe that these bloomed and than dryed up in just a few days. The plants that I have purchased from Safeways and Costco , were in bloom and have had blooms on them for months and weeks. These plants have come from California and Hawaii. So I guess my question is where can I purchase plants, and get what I am paying for. Charlie ![]() |

| www.orchidmall.com Check out the plant sources list. Most vendors will ship anywhere in the states. What kinds of orchids are you most interested in? -Cj |

| Well they are still no name but trader joes sells the same plants as the other guys and the big ones go for 12.99 and the little ones for 7.99 it is at least a better price |

| I see from your profile you are in east Washington - is that up nearer to Spokane or closer to me nearer Walla Walla? There is a VERY good grower in Walla Walla - http://www.orchidaceae.com/index.cfm?section=8. There are also some growers on the west side of your state and in the Portland area. Probably the best places to purchase orchids of quality and variety is to attend orchid shows - which in my area start in January and run through May. If you have an orchid society in your area this is also an excellent place to purchase good quality plants from people who are growing them in your area. Good luck - mike |

| I've bought orchids on sight at Carter and Holmes and I've heard through the orchid forums that they are reliable in the products that they ship. I think they are at www.carterandholmes.com . Also, try Lowes and Home Depot. Good luck, Lisa

| Mike I live in Palouse so Walla Walla is not out of range, I would think about 3 hours. The closes orchid club I know of is in Spokane which is 1 1/4 hours away. Where are you at. I checked the store in WW and they are having an open house starting in November. Thanks Charlie |

| MairahK - you have a grower right in your back yard in Vancouver - that sells orchids at all the northwest shows that I attend January through May - http://www.sorellaorchids.com/ |

| Brittany - www.orchids.com is a good source for phals and a few other types. Great search engine and a huge variety.
