Which one in the lineup on your plant is it? Oldest, newest, or in between. How many total pseudobulbs on your plant? You say soft - does it show signs of graying or translucency - precursors to rot? How you remove the affected part could affect the overall plant depending upon which part of the overall growth it is situated. Can you post a pic?

i have a cymbidium I think the pseudobulbs is old, it doesn't have any leave on it. If I have to remove it, I have to divided the orchid, to remove the pseudobulbs. The orchid i have has 5 pseudobulbs.

Wconan,
Is your orchid outside? If it is it could be snails or slugs. If not then as Mike
stated, it could be a precursor to rot due to bacterial or fungal infection. A
pic would defintely be helpful.

Keep a close eye on it to make sure it doesn't spread. This is not a good time to divide cymbidiums - if possible you want to wait until spring after it has finished blooming.

I have chomp holes in a couple of pseudobulbs, Cattleya, Cymbidium. I left them alone with no adverse effects. I haven't seen any blackening or mold. I'd suggest that unless they are rotting, leave them as undisturbed as possible. Maybe spray a bit of Physan or other fungal/bacterial control agent in the chomp hole.
