ogus is on a distinguished road
I just got a new flower bloomed.

I think it's a Miltassia hybrid or similar of those in Oncidium alliance.

I would love to ID this but.. this is my very first Oncidium flower that bloomed
in my care..rather proud.. hehe

Just a point of clarification:

There's no such thing as a Miltassia species. Miltassia is an intergeneric hybrid between Miltonia and Brassia and therefore can't be a species orchid. Your orchid, ogus, could possibly be a Miltassia nonetheless.

You should be proud! The buds look nice and plump and healthy.

Cheers!

Lovely ogus. Love the color combination of yours! My Miltassia and Brassidium have been continuously spiking and blooming since late Spring and each time is like the first time....very exciting.

Without stealing your thread, maybe someone can answer a question regarding why some of the buds on mine turned yellow and blasted. This is the second spike with buds this has happened to. I'm not overwatering which was suggested so what else might it be?

Hi Sandra,
The only thing that I can think of is have you rotated or changed the
position of the plant while it was in spike or budding? My orchid doctor
told me that it can sometimes cause some of the buds to blast.

PS Love your new avatar!!

Not to my recollection Tobi but I'll pay closer attention to this in the future.

Nice bloom Ogus, I know how you feel. I have a spike on a Zygo that I have been babying for some time and I am on pins waiting for the bloom.

Sandra, the new avatar is very tasteful but I confess that I much preferred the one of you up the tree.

Bill
