Phal leaf

Will a phal leaf "plump" back up once it is getting enough water, or will it always be droopy?

Thanks, that is what I thought. Do psuedobulbs ever plump back up too? Have fixed the lack of water problem, now curious if they will plump back up or stay wrinkled.

My experience with phal leaves is that yes they will regain some of their turgor/rigidness - but they never stick up and slightly up like leaves that were never floppy to begin with - in other words, they usually remain in the floppy position (more or less), but they become more firm - not spongy like very floppy water starved leaves.

I usually just ignor it. I do not see them plump enough to be meaningful, which for me is good enough to sell.

I just put them on the shelf and in a year most of the leaves fall off and are replaced by new ones.

none of the leaves on my phals ever "plump back up" and instead just gradually worsen and wrinkle more until they turn yellow and die, at which point i cut them off. the new growth (roots and leaves) coming in always is firm, erect, and a deep green colour, which tells me they are doing well! as long as your plants are putting out new growth, any older leaves which die (and they do die-off naturally too) are not a huge concern.
