| Spotted Dend. leaves Pretty new to raising orchids and have 2 dend. right next to each other in a West facing window. I water once or twice a week (4-5 days). One looks perfect, should bloom in a week or two. The other I purchased at a Home Depot about a year ago. It sent up a stem last fall/winter and was looking good and then it just stopped. It sent up another stem recently and seems to be doing alright, but the new stem is developing black spots on the leaves. They are indented in the leaf. This one is growing in a tree stem instead of bark chips (like the other) so I'm not sure how to repot or if it's needed? Any tips? |

| the growing medium sounds like coconut hunks which I do not like. when you get a chance re-pot it Den leaves are always a frustration. I seldom get more than a year out of old leaves except on my oldest plants. some black spots are not something to worry about unless they are expanding. There is a lot of fungal rot this time of year in areas of heavy rain like Florida. this rot will grow larger on the leaves and should be cut off.
