Question Cymbidium propogation

Hi I was given some cym pseudobulbs which I have managed to get growing. They have all sprouted leaves except one which has sent out a flower spike but no leaves. Is this normal? I will try to send some photos.

Photos would be helpful. In New Zeland, where it's now winter, this is the normal time for cyms to bloom, so I wouldn't be surprised if it bloomed, then started a new growth. But one question - are you sure it's a spike and not a new growth? On cyms, they look pretty similar when they first start.
