Exclamation Help in re potting.

Hi All, I'm new to this forum and know zip about orchids. I have two plants one of which needs re-potting. This plant has been neglected for many years but keeps plugging away. It is now very, very rootbound and there are lots of 'tubers?' that are firm but not doing anything. Should I cut these tubers out, should I replant them with fresh mix?
the plant is currently putting up stems. (I'm sure thats the wrong name.) The flowers are brownish and I think it may be Cybidium, or something like that
As it is now painfully obvious that I know zippedy zoo about orchids, any advice would be most appreciated.

cheers
wheels

hi and welcome to the forum
I hope that you enjoy your stay here with us

I think it would be a good idea if you could update your Profile with your Location.

If your plant is flowering it is best to wait with any repotting untill the flowering is over.

A picture of your orchid will also help you can add that as an attatchment so we can tell you what sort of orchid you do own as there are many different species that require different culture.

happy chatting

dont feel guilty we are here to help you gain knowledge with orchids
we dont judge people for the way they grow orchids as we all have to start some where.

I look forward to seeing your plant.

The old bulbs can be back bulb propagated i think, that will give you some new plants, though will take a few years to grow.

I agree wit fred about waiting for yur orchid to finish flowering, the flowers can drop off prematurely otherwis, and you'll have to wait a few monthes for new ones.

Orchids arent actually that fussy about care, AS LONG as you give them the basic environment conditions they grow great

Welcome wheels. ditto to what fred said about not feeling guilty. We all started off our orchid collections with one or two orchid and zero knowledge.

Guilt is worthless when good intentions are at the core. Save it for what you may have caused ill-intentionally. I have 23 more orchids than the 2 I originally had when I found this forum. This forum is infectious wheels. There's usually a fix for anything going wrong and everyone's happy to share their advice and get you addicted to wanting more, intentionally, I might add! Welcome!

We could do a whole lot better with a good picture. Any chance of a digital picture?
