Smile My Orchids... so far!

Just wanted to share my little orchid collection, I hope I posted the photos correctly!

Jean Grey, Doritaenopsis "Kenneth Shubert":

Lou Henry, Noid Phal:

Marla, Paph (Shadow Magic x curtisil). This is the Paph I repotted.:

Wednesday, Phal/Doritaenopsis? Dtps. Leopard Prince KH5733
:

I didn't get to take pics of the two at work, but those are both Phals, "Arthur Dent" and "Trillian". The naming thing may get old eventually, but I think of them more as pets than plants!

Ditto the previous comments - not only are the plants great but you obviously have some photo and/or photoshop skills! Excellent. Possilby one day you can share your technique if you don't mind? What kind of camera/lens and what kind of post processing? Enjoy your new plants. I agree as well with your comments regarding the fact that they seem to take on a "life" of their own - over time they even develop more character which makes them "friends". :-) mike

Thanks for all the compliments on my photography! I don't have any special techniques, I have to photograph and edit and post photos for my company blog, www.knitn.com, which has given me practice on macro glamour shots of yarn.

The first orchid is a Doritaenopsis, which from my internet research yesterday I discovered is a hybrid of Phals and Dortitis orchids. So much to learn!

The blue background is my breakfast room wall, where I keep my orchids.

How funny - your breakfast room wall!! and we thought you had a whole pro set-up someplace in your house. Take credit for the photography no matter how you came to this point; they're lovely.

That Leopard Prince is stunning! I will have to try my painted walls for glamour shots in the future.
