Orchid growing into edge of pot

I have a Sc. Crystelle Smith 'Gold Throat' and don't know to much about it, I do know that it's a miniature (or that's what I was told) and I've been letting the media dry completely between waterings. My question is though, it has a what I'm assuming new growth coming, but it is growing directly into the edge of the pot, what should I do? should I go ahead and repot, to reposition it so it's further from the edge, or should I hold off and just cut a small part of the pot away (it's plastic) so it can continue growing? I tried to take pics as best I could, hopefully they will help

Pic 1: You can see the new growth at the base of the last growth
Pic 2: The new growth is the green bit between the two brown 'canes'
Pic 3: Just an overall pic of the plant, the new growth is coming out of the left side (though you can't see it in this pic)

Thanks!

two options: leave it be, and it'll figure it out. or, wait until it gets slightly longer, and then turn the pot so that side is *away* from the light. hopefully the growth will curve back towards the center when it phototropes.

i have a den that grew a new cane *down* into the pot. it figured it out after a couple months and turned and came back up.

The growth will bend up the side of the pot as it gets bigger. There is nothing you need to do now. When growth is this small it breaks very easy so avoid the risk and leave it alone. When the growth gets to be 6-8 inches you can bend it with less risk and stake it vertical if you are not satisfied with the shape of the plant.

You have a Cattleya hybrid. It looks to be a normal size orchid. Miniatures are normally no more than 4-5 inches high full grown; semi-miniatures 6-8. I think you can expect a quite large plant over the next few years.

All Cattleya grow along a rhizome. Each new growth will come from the last growth in the same direction. They will normally grow over the end of the pot, and growers will either re-pot larger or divide the plant as it gets bigger. Sometimes the new growth will branch in two directions at the pot's side and grow on as it it were two plants with twice the growth and twice the flowers.

I don't think that the growth will get to be 6-8 inches, as the largest cane is only two inches long (the one that is furtherest left on pic 3), also it has already reached blooming size, but no matter that, if I just leave it alone, it should figure itself out?

Jerry, I have a catt (mixed with something else but not sure what) that was on the brink of death until just recently. It's growing new psbulbs, 2 pretty large ones now, on both side of the plant, rooting is all over now. Is this what you're saying, that the growth will occur on both sides of the plant itself?

I am pretty sure he means 2 growths from the most recent growth. It will form 2 plants AFTER a few years when each side of this double growth gets enough pseudobulbs that they can be split near the original 2 for 1 branching, about 3 or 4 years.
