Question New Baby

Hi Everyone, I am looking for some advice on how to manage/cope with a new baby Phal. I have a yellow phal, and originally it appeared to promise three flower spikes, but two developed and the other remained static until.......... the plant has now finished flowering and the static spike has now produced a mini/baby phal. It is not growing from a root, (I could probably deal with that successfully) but it is firmly attached to the main plant. Can anyone give me some advice?? grateful thanks in advance, regards, Chris.

Many thanks for the reply , I'm sorry I made a mistake and said root instead of spike, hope fully I have now corrected this and posted a photo. Thanks again.
