Orchid Rescue

I rescued an Orchid from one of my managers at work. It was given to her in Dec and it had been watered only twice that I know of. Needless to say several of the leaves have died and fallen off and all of the flowers are long gone. First thing I did was to give it some water and it is now sitting in a drip tray that is almost full. The plant itself is in a plastic 5in pot, which I have set inside of a ceramic pot so it isn't sitting in the water getting water logged. It took several days for the wilted leaves to plump back up and it was doing really good, that is until the day before yesterday. I noticed several black spots on just one of the leaves and has been turning yellow on just one side of the leaf. The second (bottom) leaf is just fine. I want to cut off the flower spike and repot it, but I don't want to put this poor plant into any more stress than is necessary right now. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be wrong or what I can do to fix it? I think it may be a Phal from some of the photos I've seen on various sites.

Thanks for your help in advanced.

Yes, cut the flower spike off at the base and keep out of direct sunlight. Phals will naturally loose 1-2 leaves per year - the bottom ones. If it is middle or upper leaves then you have an issue - quite often it is plants that have been put into too much light in this case.

The leaf that is yellowing is the top leaf of the two that are left. The plant is sitting on my desk in my cube and is only receiving "office lighting', I do however, have two 18 neon desk lights that I turn on everyday for my other plants and it is sitting near one of these. Could this be providing too much light?. I can move it to a darker area after I trim off the flower spike. I will try to post a pic tomorrow, maybe a visual will be of more help. Thank you.
